How To Straighten a Blue Ripper Rail
Here is the technique we use to straighten the rail.
Procedure Steps:
Set the ends of the rail on 4x4 wood blocks with the bend set curved up in the middle.
Straighten Rail Step 1a: Set on blocks
(If the aluminum angle is facing down, set the rail so that the edge of the angle aluminum hangs off the edge of the wood block.)
Straighten Rail Step 1b: Set on edge of blocks
Straighten Rail Step 1a: Set on blocks
(If the aluminum angle is facing down, set the rail so that the edge of the angle aluminum hangs off the edge of the wood block.)
Straighten Rail Step 1b: Set on edge of blocks
Make sure both ends are stable on the blocks
Straighten Rail Step 2: Verify stability
Straighten Rail Step 2: Verify stability
Using some sort of support to hold yourself steady, step down on the rail providing just enough force to bend the rail straight.
Straighten Rail Step 3: Correct the bend
Straighten Rail Step 3: Correct the bend
Check straightness again
Repeat if necessary.
